I am reading for a DPhil in Computer Science at the University of Oxford, supervised by Yarin Gal in the OATML Group.
My research interests revolve around advancing probabilistic data-centric frameworks within machine learning, with a particular emphasis on optimizing data selection strategies to enhance both label and compute efficiency while exploring their consequential impact. My research interests extend to active learning, subset selection, causality, and associate fairness.
Previously, I was Research Intern at Microsoft, European Space Agency Frontier Development Lab, and
Mila, working with
Kris Sankaran
and
Yoshua Bengio. I completed my BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering, supervised by
Fred Nicolls, at the University of Cape Town.
Outside my direct research interests, I'm also interested in AI governance, and was an RA on AI Governance in Africa at the Centre of Socio-Legal Studies at Oxford.
I am a Rhodes Scholar and a Klaus-Jurgen Bathe Scholar and was previously funded by the National Research Foundation of South Africa.
